South Brooklyns where it’s at and Overflow magazine covers all that stuff you want to know about this great area and some stuff you want to know, but don’t know you want to know it yet, basically, the neighborhood and magazine are both ahead of their times.
These images represent a story (and cover) I worked with Jon Melamad on about 4 around the way girls heavily steeped in the Burlesque scene. Gal Friday, Legs Malone, Runaround Sue, and KiKi Valentine were not only the ultimate professionals but so much fun to work with that I hesitate to even call it work.
Kudos to Shula Melamad for her fantastic writing of the story, an amazing entertainer in her own right.
